Arundel High School football standout Alec Lemon committed to play at Syracuse yesterday, according to his mother.

The 6-foot, 2-inch rising senior wide receiver caught 70 passes for 969 yards and 13 touchdowns last season for the Wildcats, helping lead the team to the 4A state championship game.

He figures to be the main target for projected starting quarterback Billy Cosh at Arundel this fall.

Lemon had worked out for other Division-I programs this summer, including Vanderbilt, Louisville, Tulane and Maryland.
